They say the greatest advertisement a product can receive is the positive endorsement from happy customers. I couldn't agree more. And while this article isn't a review for a specific product, I'm still delighted to endorse the concept of an adjustable air bed mattress because I own one. The following four reasons explain why I love my adjustable air bed mattress and will never go back to a traditional coil spring model.
The Comfort of Sleeping on Air
Adjustable air bed mattresses conform to the user's body based on weight and shape. When I climb into bed at night the mattress fits my body like a glove. This is true not only during most of the year when I maintain an average body weight, but also during the holidays when we all tend to put on a few extra pounds. During the winter months, I can accommodate for the changes in air pressure brought on by colder temperatures, simply by increasing the amount of air in the mattress. In other words, the mattress will always conform to my body regardless of conditions.
The Comfort Level of my Spouse
My wife and I, like most married couples, prefer different firmness levels. Due to back and arthritis issues, I prefer a more firm mattress; my wife prefers significantly less firmness. With our old coil spring mattress we were both unhappy because the bed was not suitable for either one of us. With our current dual zone adjustable air bed mattress, we both have the firmness that makes us most comfortable.
Added Warmth
We live in an area that sees very few hot summer days. We have very cold and intense winters, and mostly cool and damp conditions in the spring and fall. For people like me who thrive on warmth and heat, sleeping on air is a great idea. That's because air is one of the best natural insulators known to man. When we first purchased our adjustable air bed mattress, we were surprised at how much warmer we were while still using the same sheets and blankets. When it does get hot during the summer, we have a special mattress cover that reflects heat and helps keep us cool.
Reasonable Price
When we first began pricing adjustable air bed mattresses, my wife and I were expecting them to be significantly more expensive than a traditional coil spring mattress. Fortunately, we were pleasantly surprised. Although we spent several thousand dollars on our new bed, we purchased the mattress, motor, and foundation together. Had we just purchased the mattress on its own it would have been comparable in price. It came with a 20 year warranty, so we knew it would stand up to many years of punishment just as well as a coiled spring mattress.
My wife and I can say unconditionally that we love sleeping on air. We would recommend adjustable air bed mattresses to anyone looking to replace their coil spring bed.
